The University of Michigan Shared Services Center (U-M SSC) is a customer service organization focused on providing user-friendly and cost-effective administrative services to the university community. The SSC offers key financial and human resource transaction services to customers.

The SSC maintains a strong focus on customer service with expectations for timely and accurate processing of requests. Reporting to the Employment Process Supervisor, the EPC-I9 Intermediate Associate serves as a critical member of the Employment Processing Team. You will provide support for your assigned Regional I-9 Center and process all I-9 paperwork for university employees. You will be working in a high-volume, transactional environment that requires a strong attention to detail. This position is expected to meet productivity & accuracy standards.

Work Locations:

This position is 100% on-site in Ann Arbor, MI. Candidates must be available to work at Pierpont Commons (North Campus). 

You may be asked to fill in at other locations when necessary:

• Student Activities Building (Central Campus)

• The Shared Services Center (Off Campus)

• Complete on-site, customer-facing I-9 and MCard appointments during core business hours (8:00 am and 5:00 pm), including high-volume periods such as peak seasons. 
• Conduct physical examinations of original identity and employment authorization documents to ensure federal compliance.
• Toggle efficiently between multiple websites and internal university systems such as M-Pathways (PeopleSoft) to access and review employee record verification.
• Maintain strict confidentiality while handling sensitive personal information and protected employee data.
• Process electronic and paper-based I-9 forms for new and existing employees.
• Resolve customer inquiries, remote I-9 submissions, E-Verify cases, reciprocal I-9 requests, and data integrity audits using the TeamDynamix (TDx) ticketing system.
• The EPC-I9 Intermediate Associate may need to provide I-9 processing coverage to other regional I-9 sites across campus and may need to be available during the University of Michigan's Season Day Period (Dec. 28th to Dec. 31st) to complete critical employment transactions.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of experience providing customer service 
• Intermediate level proficiency with data entry and computer skills 
• 1+ years of experience with business software solutions
