POSITION

The LACCD is accepting applications for Adjunct Health Care Ancillary Instructor, CNA PROGRAM positions at our Colleges for the 2025-2026 Academic School Year. The purpose of this posting is to create a pool of qualified applicants so that when there is an actual opening at a one of our colleges, the college can then begin their review process by reviewing those applicants. The LACCD is seeking dynamic, motivated and diverse candidates for part-time faculty positions to engage and educate our students. Successful candidates will collaborate, communicate and work as professionals with students, staff, faculty and administrators. Applicants with a demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse student population are strongly encouraged to apply.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree or higher and two years of professional experience, OR

• Associate's degree and six years of professional experience, which must be directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment.

• A sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

• NATP Instructor Required Qualifications:
  Two years of Nursing Experience RN ( Resume showing work experience, include month/year of work experience, name, and address of employer, contact telephone number for Human Resources or Administration to validate the work experience, and name of supervisor.
  One-year verifiable experience as licensed nurse providing care and services to chronically ill or elderly patients in acute care hospital, skilled nursing facility, intermediate care facility, home care, hospice care, or other long-term care setting.
  Completion of a course in teaching adults (must include certificate of completion) or 1 year of verifiable experience in teaching adults or 1 year of verifiable experience supervising nurses' aides.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

The adjunct instructor should be prepared to teach any of the Courses offered in the CNA Program, promoting engaging and inclusive educational environments that support student learning. The successful candidate will be culturally responsive in interactions with students, faculty, staff, and community members who span a diverse range of languages, nationalities and ethnicities, socio-economic levels, ages, identities, abilities and educational experiences. Duties are as follows but not limited to:

1. Provide on-site instruction in the areas of entry level care giving for Nursing Assistants. Visit training sites in the areas of entry level caregiving for Nursing Assistants.
2. Plan, select, prepare and implement appropriate active learning activities to meet all course competencies.
3. Prepare, and/or select and utilize reliable and valid formative and summative in-class assessment tools/techniques to measure students' achievement of course competencies.
4. Distribute, in written form, course competencies, performance criteria, established approved grading procedures and standards, attendance and class policies/procedures, and other necessary information to students at the beginning of the course.
5. Deliver instruction using active learning methods which accommodate different learning styles.
6. Provide guidance and advice to students as regarding course progress, program areas, or other academic concerns.
7. Review and revise as necessary delivery methods, instructional materials, learning activities, and assessment tools.
8. Work collaboratively with the hospital administrators, colleagues, and practitioners to integrate instructional activities and materials

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT COVID 19 VACCINATION:

Pursuant to LACCD Board of Trustee's Policy 2900, all students and employees must be fully vaccinated or have an approved exemption. LACCD employees are required to provide their vaccination status in compliance with the LACCD Board of Trustees' policy. Newly hired employees will be required to provide their vaccination status prior to starting a position or, at the latest, by their position start date.



COMPENSATION

The salary schedule for adjunct instructors begins at $89.72 per standard hour, plus an office hour differential of $20.99 per hour for classroom assignments. Applicants with a doctoral degree are eligible for a doctoral differential.

4. Copies of transcripts (if candidate is advance to finalist, they will be required to submit official transcripts). All degrees must be granted by an accredited college or university in the United States. Transcripts from a foreign institution must be submitted with an approved evaluation of equivalency from a foreign evaluation service approved by California Commission on Teaching Credentialing.
5. Position requires Verification of Experience on letterhead stationery; must show inclusive dates of assignments, state if full-time or part-time and indicate duties. If part-time, the number of paid hours worked per week, semester or year must be included. (Signed hard copies required if selected to interview) uploaded as an 'Other Document';
