Riverland is a member of the Minnesota State system with 30 community and technical colleges and seven state universities. Minnesota State is the largest provider of higher education in Minnesota.
With three campuses in Albert Lea, Austin and Owatonna, Riverland graduates support the economic region in Southern Minnesota which consists of a variety of small to large employers in key industries such as healthcare, food manufacturing, agri-businesses, transportation and distribution sectors. A campus is within an hour’s drive to the Twin Cities, Rochester, and Mankato and has many recreational and lifestyle assets to offer.
With nearly 90 program options, students most often seek out Riverland for careers in healthcare, business, public safety, computer technology, manufacturing, construction, agriculture and transportation. In addition to the many technical and professional degrees offered, Riverland is a comprehensive college that awards certificates, diplomas, Associate of Science and Associate of Arts degrees and many Transfer Pathways that complete the first two years of a bachelor’s degree that can seamlessly transfer to one of Minnesota State’s seven universities.
