Overview
Under general supervision, incumbents must have course work in the discipline requested on the task order Statement of Work. The C&I IPT is responsible for providing full life cycle software and engineering support to a variety of Navy customers in support of Naval Information Warfare Center's (formally SPAWAR-Pacific). The Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific's mission is to conduct research, development, test, evaluation, operation, sustainment, maintenance, and implementation using technologies that contribute to improving the responsiveness, capability, readiness. The C&I IPT has been providing support to the Navy and anther service commands for more than 15 years in the Command and Control environment. Engineers, Scientist and Technical Specialist conduct software development, design engineering solutions, conduct cyber security analysis, and preform data analytics.
Responsibilities
- Investigation, analysis, and evaluation of technology to include, open source software, vendor products, academia and industry research, and Government software and systems.
- Installing and integrating software applications and hardware components. Resolving workstation hardware and software challenges.
- Performing software cycle support to include requirements, design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and documentation.
- Producing reports on industry trends to include software and systems methodologies, security systems, and future technologies.
- Reviewing and documenting engineering best practices
- Under the supervision of subject matter experts, utilize industry standards to update content management systems and documentation.
- Submit Monthly Status Reports and Bi-Weekly Time Reports in accordance with base contract CDRLs.
Qualifications
Undergraduate Student 3: Must have course work in the discipline requested on the task order Statement of Work. The student must be at the Senior level and have experience in 100% of the task requirements and be able to accomplish 90% of the work independently.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Majoring in Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and/or Electrical Engineering (Senior).
- Proficient with a business productivity suite e.g. MS Office.
- Basic working knowledge of a software development process.
- Working knowledge of computer hardware.
- Working knowledge of the Windows (i.e. Win 10, Win 7) and or Unix Operating Systems.
Required Course Work:
- Introduction to Computer Programing or Computer Engineering or Principles of Information Systems (or an equivalent course).
- Digital Systems (or an equivalent course).
- Embedded Systems Programming (or an equivalent course).
- Information Systems Analysis (or an equivalent course).
- Networks and Data Communications (or an equivalent course).
- Information Systems Technology (or an equivalent course).
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Basic working knowledge of computer and networking protocols and communications theory and applications.
- Working knowledge of web design.
- Basic working knowledge of document repositories to include Atlassian confluence.
- Basic working knowledge of task management systems to include Atlassian JIRA.
- Basic working knowledge of server client hardware and operating systems architecture.
- Ability to develop comparison decision analysis documentation based on vendor related hardware and software.
- Working knowledge of at least one programming language and demonstrates the ability to develop and compile source code.
