This position is located 100% in person on the Worthington, MN campus.Job DescriptionThis position exists as part of Minnesota West Community and Technical College?s commitment to student success and ongoing institutional effectiveness. This includes responsibility for providing direction, leadership, coordination and development of academic support services across the college community. Additionally, the position will bring leadership and coordination for the overall programming of tutoring, proctoring, study skill sessions, and other supports that ensure optimal results for students needing academic assistance. The position will provide proactive measures for outreach to students at academic risk, as well as captioning services to all campuses and centers. The position will ensure collaboration among students, faculty, staff and administration in delivering academic support services. It also handles coverage schedules, training, budgets, Help Desk, and assists with ReadSpeaker or other similar technologies that promote student success. PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Develop, administer, and deliver academic support services and programs to promote student success.Consult with leadership, faculty, and student services and support staff to determine academic support needs.Develop and implement academic support services and programs in alignment with best practices as supported by data and identified needs of the institution.Collaborate with faculty to arrange and coordinate study groups and other services to supplement classroom instruction.Act as the lead person for Navigate 360 and its functionality, campaigns, automations.Oversee the coordination, implementation, and assessment of online learning support for the college.Coordinate and administer overall proctoring services for the college.Coordinate coverage of and train Help Desk staff.Develop, maintain, and disseminate promotional and informational materials to students, faculty, staff, and members of the community.Evaluate student outcomes, compile data and prepare accurate and informative reports.2. Provide academic resources, tutoring, captioning, and proctoring services to help students reach their educational goals.Collaborate and meet with students and advisors on a regular basis to monitor academic progress and assist in the students? development of educational goals, and academic success strategies through proactive outreach.Respond to student concerns then triage next steps with a success team including; academic, personal, conduct, etc.Assess and meet individual student and target group needs by understanding and supporting college-wide services, policies and procedures and community resources, when appropriate, to include referrals to campus and community resources.Troubleshoot conflict among the department and with students negotiating solutions.Facilitate department meetings.Train department staff and coordinate scheduling and coverage for all services.Recruit, hire and supervise student workers.3. Coordinate staff and provide accommodations to enrolled students with documented disabilities.Collaborate with Disabilities Coordinator to provide the delivery of accommodations for students with documented disabilities, such as interpreter services, note taking, reader services, test taking, supplemental materials, environmental modifications, etc.Access and utilize adaptive equipment and train students and staff on its use.Track and record disability services provided in your department for reporting and accordance to MWCTC and Minnesota State policies.Assist with training regarding new or revised instructional materials, strategies and techniques for working with universal design.4. Coordinate projects and provide budget oversight of resources.Provide oversight of MWCTC projects under the supervision of appropriate Dean(s).Work cooperatively with faculty and other offices to identify and apply for external sources of funding through grant writing for summer Bridge, and other like programming.Coordinate educational and academic training with appropriate staff.Identify captioning needs, instruments and processes for the college.Lead, educate and implement ReadSpeaker and other like tools.5. Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the college and maintain the reputation of the college as a viable community partner.Serve on Academic Appeals Committee.Salary Range:$25.67 - $37.26 per hourMinimum QualificationsTwo years of professional experience supporting student or academic affairs, or adult developmental education. A bachelor?s degree may substitute for 1 year of experience, an associate?s degree may substitute for 6 months experience.Demonstrate decision making skills along with the ability to communicate and collaborate with others to successfully meet project and/or campus goals. Demonstrate knowledge of best practices and understanding of educating high-risk students from diverse backgrounds, academic retention activities, and student academic advisement.Demonstrate ability to interpret and apply federal, state, system, and college regulations or policies consistently but fairly dictated by individual student or group situations.Exceptional interpersonal communication skills, including training/teaching skills and conflict management.Ability to work both independently and work effectively in a team environment and with other departments.Proficient with a variety of word processing, database and web-based applications sufficient to accurately collect data and create reports.Preferred QualificationsBachelor?s degree.
