Job Summary:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Doctoral degree (PhD or EdD) in Speech-Language Pathology or related fields; ABD welcome to apply, however degree must be conferred by the time of appointment for August 2026;
• Current ASHA Certifications (CCC-SLP);
• Eligible for Louisiana state licensure in speech-language pathology, with an active license expected by the start date;
• At least nine months of full-time clinical experience after the CCC-SLP;
• Commitment to developing an active research program within the area of the applicant's expertise;
• Conduct ongoing, independent research, resulting in scholarly publications and/or successful grant proposals;
• Focus on areas related to speech-language pathology;
• Commitment to academic advising and mentoring for undergraduate and graduate students in the department;
• Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population;
• Write and speak English proficiently;
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to work collegially; and
• Commitment to the mission of Xavier University of Louisiana.

Preferred Qualifications:

• PhD or EdD in speech-language pathology and/or related fields;
• Experience in clinical and scholarly areas focus – child and/or adolescent language disorders, literacy, developmental disabilities, speech sound disorders, phonology, disorders of rhythm, or complex communication;
• Ongoing commitment to pedagogical innovation;
• Evidence of scholarly presentations, publications, or grant writing; and
• Evidence of potential to provide service to the university or profession.
