Job DescriptionThis position exists to maximize both required and open lab learning for nursing students and includes simulation activities in the Simulation and Practice Labs. Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, simulation and practice lab maintenance, inventory control, simulation/practice lab preparation and operation, facilitate training and instructional use of simulation/lab equipment, facilitate student practice of skills previously taught by nursing faculty, document student activities and provide feedback to nursing faculty, and provide administrative support to the nursing department. This employee will have considerable autonomy in their areas of responsibility, although general direction will be provided by Nursing Faculty and the Dean of Nursing.Range of Pay: $21.57 - $30.13 per hour; pay within this range dependent on education and work experience and internal equity.Minimum QualificationsPost-secondary or industry certification/diploma/degree or relevant licensure in Nursing Sciences AND Current unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse LicenseANDAt least one of the following: One year of teaching/tutoring experience in Nursing Sciences. OR Four years of work experience in Nursing. Preferred Qualification Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Master of Science in Nursing Prior simulation experience Previous experience within the Minnesota State System Prior experience teaching in the classroom, laboratory, or clinical in a nursing program The ability to communicate effectively in oral and written communication to diverse individuals, including students, staff, faculty, and healthcare professionals. The ability to anticipate and address problems pertaining to the operation of lab/simulation equipment and software. The ability to seek out and apply creative approaches to decision-making, lab/simulation preparation, and utilization of resources.Other RequirementsIn accordance with the Minnesota State Colleges Universities (Minnesota State) Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State's vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.A job offer may be contingent upon successfully passing a background check.
