The Director of Facilities works with the Chief Administrative Officer to improve all aspects of Cheyney University's operational activities. This individual serves as the facilities steward of campus on behalf of the university and PASSHE, establishes long-term organizational strategic goals, and provides short- and long-term recommendations to senior leadership regarding campus conditions.
A bachelor’s degree in engineering required and master’s degree preferred.
A minimum of 10 years’ experience in operations and 5 years in Education.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to establish clear expectations of his/her team, hold them accountable, motivate them, proactively address problem performers, and establish a culture of excellence.
• Effective decision making and developing solutions to problems.
• Excellent communication, verbal and written.
• Ability to organize and plan effectively while mastering attention to detail in analyzing and evaluating information.
• Ability to interact with a diverse organization in a friendly and welcoming manner and work effectively in a team environment.
• Computer skills - (Microsoft Office Suite and other related software}.
• Knowledge of principles and practices of statistical and administrative record and report preparation.
• Knowledge of moderate budgeting procedures and techniques.
• Experience with grants management and reporting for both federal and state agencies.
