Reporting to the President, the Vice President for Information Technology is a senior leadership role critical in providing institutional leadership in all aspects of technology that ensures institutional success at BMCC. Serving as a member in the President???s Cabinet, this position will be responsible for the strategic planning, development, implementation, and management of technology initiatives and service.
Key responsibilities include, but not limited to, the following:
Serves as chief information officer and lead administrator for all aspects of information technology including, but not limited to, telecommunications, network services, enterprise systems, classroom and student support technologies, instructional design, and media services.
Oversees IT infrastructure, systems, applications, and services, ensuring that technology supports the institution's research activities, teaching and learning, and administrative needs.
Is responsible for planning, implementing, and supervising all information technology projects at the college and ensuring that technology resources are responsive to the evolving needs of the campus community.
Provides leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of college policies, procedures and ensures quality and compliance.
Develops and implements strategic plan for information technology in alignment with the college???s strategic plan to achieve integrated and cost-effective technology solutions.
Evaluates information technology teams to ensure they function in a supported environment that sustains a highly competent and motivated staff required to deliver excellent IT services to the college community.
Partners with campus leadership on strategies that will enhance the teaching and learning process in collaboration with the Provost and Academic Deans as it pertains to computing and instructional technology strategies.
Provides guidance to the campus leadership on emerging challenges to cyber security and leads initiatives to implement strategies to effectively reduce vulnerability and mitigate risks.
Participates in vendor contract negotiations for new computer equipment, cloud computing and software purchases.
Serves in CUNY and College committees as assigned.
Performs other duties as assigned.
This position is in CUNY's Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and eight years' related experience.
Preferred Qualifications :
A Master???s degree in computer information systems, business administration or management, computer science, or a related field.
Experience and expertise in information technology, with at least four (4) years of proven success in leading and managing a large or complex enterprise-wide technology operation, including strategic planning, IT budgeting, and procurement contracts, Business Continuity Resilience, Disaster Recovery planning and Risk Management.
Accountable for all processes and teams associated with the following areas: IT Platform Architectures, IT Systems Software, Information and Cyber Security, Data Analytics and Business Intelligence, Hardware and Databases, Data and Voice Networks, and End User Technology & Software Support.
Crisis management skills and serving as an institutional operational lead in various situations related to information technology as required.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with a particular focus on the facilitation of generative discussions that lead to action items tied to clear outcomes.
Demonstrable drive to evolve the information systems function to keep pace with emerging business needs, technology trends, and information security requirements and provide fact-based, analytical support to help BMCC evolve its information technology infrastructure.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$180,000 - $200,000
