Associate Professor of Agricultural & Resource Economics, Economics, Public Policy or related field. This is a 9-month, tenure track position with a 55% research and teaching appointment in the future Baker School for Public Policy and Public Affairs and a 45% research and teaching appointment in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics.

This position is part of a university-wide cluster hiring initiative on Climate-Smart Agriculture and Forestry that will attract six new faculty in engineering, economics, public policy, computer science, and natural resources. Participation in a cluster offers unique opportunities to leverage resources to build bold agendas that advance big ideas. New hires will join collaborators with shared research interests and a strong desire to grow the scholarly and educational impact of their work beyond what it is possible to accomplish as an individual. For early career faculty, the clusters also offer a unique framework for mentoring and professional development.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be expected to: 1) develop a nationally and internationally recognized research program focusing on environmental and natural resource economics and policy related to the food-energy-water nexus and circular bioeconomy systems; 2) teach undergraduate and graduate courses (2 courses per year) in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics and the Baker School of Public Policy; 3) publish in high quality disciplinary and multidisciplinary journals; 4) acquire extramural funding; 5) mentor and supervise undergraduate and graduate students; and 6) participate in service activities of the Department, School of Public Policy, College, University, and profession.

Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, Economics, Public Policy, or closely related field. The successful candidate will have excellent research, quantitative, teaching and communication skills and a willingness to work in multidisciplinary teams. Preference will be given to candidates with prior research experience in climate-smart agriculture or the food-energy-water nexus.
