Position Description

The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (Fred Hutch), the University of Washington (UW) and Seattle Children's Hospital (SCH) are jointly recruiting a full-time faculty member at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level without tenure due to funding (WOT), commensurate with experience and qualifications in the Clinical Research Division of the Fred Hutch and the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation, Department of Pediatrics at the UW. The primary appointment will be in the Clinical Research Division of Fred Hutch. Academic appointment at the University of Washington will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and academic rank.

The base salary range for this position will be: Assistant Professors MD $11,882 - $17,823 per month ($142,584 - $213,876 annually), Associate Professors MD $14,976 - $22,464 per month ($179,712 - $269,568 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Children's University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by Children's University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.

Associate Professors hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.

The selected individual for the advertised position is expected to contribute to our mission of delivering outstanding clinical care and developing excellence in clinical research related to the field of pediatric hematopoietic cell transplantation. Specifically, we are seeking individuals for this position who will have clinical and research efforts primarily focused on transplantation for malignant conditions, immunotherapy, or other relevant areas of pediatric transplantation. Fred Hutch and University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have a record of and primary interest in pediatric hematopoietic cell transplantation as well as an active clinical research interest, as demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications, in the application of transplantation to the treatment of human disease.

Successful candidates will have:

• MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent)
• Must be Board Certified in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology
• Must be currently licensed as a physician and eligible for licensure as a physician in the State of Washington

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all 3 steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
