About the Position:

The College of Health and Human Development strives to prepare students to thrive in a globalized era in their chosen field. We provide education, conduct research and engage diverse communities to advance human health, development, and well-being. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Social Work Department Coordinator (Administrative Support Coordinator I). The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Provides a full range of clerical and administrative support functions for the Master of Social Work (MSW) program. Coordinates all administrative, clerical, budgetary, and faculty support for the graduate MSW program. Interacts with administrators, staff, faculty, students and off campus personnel to ensure high quality customer service. Monitors, maintains, reconciles department budget and graduate student database. Assists department chair in generating the departmental semester course schedules and all other support aspects of the department including university reports. Provides receptionist and other departmental support assistance for the complex. Perform other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:
High School diploma or the equivalent and four years of progressively responsible experience in general office, clerical or secretarial work or the equivalent. Thorough, detailed knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures. Thorough knowledge of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Thorough knowledge of office systems with the ability to use a range of technology, systems and software packages. Ability to independently handle multiple work unit priorities and projects. Ability to apply a variety of policies and procedures where specific guidelines may not exist. Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures. Ability to perform standard business math including calculating ratios and percentages, tracking financial data, and making simple projections. Ability to draft and compose correspondence and standard reports. Ability to handle effectively a broad range of interpersonal contacts including those at a higher level and those sensitive in nature.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.


Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Common Management System (CMS) and Common Financial System (CFS). Experience with database management, budget reconciliation, scheduling, purchasing, procurement card reconciliation, and travel procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including email and Internet functions.
