We have two postdoctoral positions available in the research group of Prof. David Pine involving research projects on optical properties of materials made by the controlled self-assembly of amorphous patchy colloids.  The research builds on the recent advances for making colloidal diamond crystals from tetrahedral patchy colloids, a unique kind of colloidal particle developed in our research group [see Nature 585, 524?529 (2020)].  The work to be performed will include some combination of colloidal synthesis, self-assembly and optical measurements that can be adapted to the applicants? background and interests.  Applications from materials chemists with a background in colloids, physicists, chemical engineers, or related disciplines are invited.

In compliance with NYC?s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $62,500 - $65,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
