Position description
The Sue & Bill School of Nursing at the University of California, Irvine is currently accepting applications for the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Residency Program for the 2026-2027 academic year.
This is a full-time program designed to develop expert family nurse practitioners equipped to serve diverse, underserved populations in community-based healthcare settings. In partnership with a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), the residency includes:
Year 1 (Residency Training):
Residents are appointed as Health Sciences Clinical Instructors in the school of nursing and the residency is overseen by the Nurse-OC Program Manager.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
Candidates must have a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree
Applicants must be board-certified and licensed to practice as an FNP in California by August 1st, 2026
Applicants must have completed an accredited DNP-FNP program within the past 24 months, no later than July 1, 2026.
