Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

The unit secretary performs clerical duties on assigned patient care unit under the supervision of the Charge Nurse.

What It Takes to be Successful

Required Qualifications:

• Knowledge of medical terminology

Preferred Qualifications:

• Computer skills
• Previous unit secretary experience in acute care setting.

Physical Requirements:

• Position involves standing and walking for long periods of time, approximately 75% the workday.
• Must be able to transfer and lift patients as necessary. Weight will vary from patient to patient.
• Must have the dexterity, coordination, and visual and auditory acuity to perform all job responsibilities.
• Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Must be free from signs of illness and infections
