Position will be open until filled.Job DescriptionMinneapolis College, a vibrant and inclusive two-year community college in Minnesota, is accepting applications for the permanent, full-time position of Communication Studies Instructor in the Communication Studies Program within the School of Liberal Arts and Cultures.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Teach full-time (30 credits/year) of college-level courses in Communication Studies, primarily college-level introductory courses.Deliver instruction in multiple modalities, including on-campus, blended, synchronous and asynchronous online formats.Participate in the development and implementation of curriculum and instructional materials within the Communication Studies department.Participate in student assessment. Assessment of student learning outcomes at the course, department, Transfer Pathway in Communication Studies, and college general education levels.Actively engage in the college community through committee work and interdepartmental collaboration.Commitment to providing quality instruction and services to a diverse student population.Maintain collegial and cooperative work relationships with colleagues in the department, department support staff, and all college personnel.Schedule may include daytime, evenings, or Saturdays.Salary Range:Full time faculty salaries currently range from $43,067- $94,542 annually.Salary schedule placement is determined on the basis of education and experience and in accordance with the 2023 - 2025 Master Agreement between the Minnesota State Board of Trustees and the Minnesota State College Faculty.Minimum QualificationsMust possess or meet minimum qualifications for the Minnesota State colleges and universities credential field of Speech Communication #500016: Visit https://www.minnstate.edu/system/asa/academicaffairs/cfc/fields/500016.html for details.Education RequirementMaster's degree with a major in speech, speech communication, or communication, or communication studies orMaster's degree in any discipline/field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in speech, speech communication, or communication, or communication studies.Teaching and Learning Competency Requirement (to be completed within first three years of employment)Preferred QualificationCommunity College Experience ? two or more years of teaching experience in a community or combined community and technical collegeAutonomous classroom teaching experience with Introduction to Communication Studies, Public Speaking, Small Group Communication, Intercultural Communication, and/or Interpersonal Communication.Demonstrated teaching or background in any of the following areas: Environmental Communication, Gender, Argumentation, and Health Communication.Experienced in delivering instruction across multiple modalities, including fully online and blended models.Evidence of a strong and clear understanding of and commitment to equity-informed pedagogical practices.Assessment ? experience with the development of assessment strategies and practices across all levels: classroom, department, and college.Service to the College ? a proven willingness to participate through committee work and/or student activities.Student-centered ? demonstrated contributions to student growth and development through retention measures, student mentoring, and student activities.Other RequirementsCurrent and former employees must be in good standing with Minneapolis College to be considered for the position.Work Shift (Hours / Days of work)VariesApplication Procedure:APPLY TO THIS JOB POSTING ONLINE ON OR BEFORE MONDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2026.
