The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition in the Department of Pediatrics at Stanford University seeks applications for a pediatric gastroenterologist with areas of interest including expertise in neurogastroenterology and motility at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor rank in the Clinician Educator line.

Stanford Children's Health has a comprehensive motility program offering the full breadth of manometry studies, pH-Multichannel Intraluminal Impedance monitoring, Endoluminal Functional Lumen Imaging Probe, and Percutaneous Electrical Nerve Field Stimulation.

The candidate will be joining a dedicated motility team including the medical director, an advanced practice provider, coordinator and three dedicated nurses.  Our GI Division at Stanford includes 34 attending faculty, 7+ advanced practice providers, and 9 ACGME pediatric gastroenterology fellows.

The major criterion for appointment, reappointment and promotion for Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care and clinical teaching appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

Academic rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

Your responsibilities and success for this position will include:

The candidate must have an M.D./D.O/M.D. PhD/D.O. PhD or equivalent, board certified/board eligible in Pediatric Gastroenterology, and additional advanced training or extensive experience in the diagnostic procedures and management of motility disorders. The successful candidate will be involved in the supervision and education of medical students, graduate students, residents, and gastroenterology fellows. They should demonstrate a track record of research and innovation in clinical practice. Additionally, clinical responsibilities will include: outpatient and inpatient care, consultative services, completion of gastroenterology procedures, and completion of gastrointestinal motility testing.

The Pediatric Gastroenterology Program at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital has grown dramatically over the past ten years and now includes 34 faculty. Abundant resources, including equipment and nursing/administrative support, are available for Pediatric Gastroenterology faculty members. Our Pediatric Gastroenterology Program is currently ranked #11 nationally by U.S. News and World Report. Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital has the nation’s largest pediatric solid organ transplant program and is home to a robust ACGME accredited fellowship program in pediatric gastroenterology, with three gastroenterology fellows per year. The expected base pay range for this position is:

Clinical Assistant Professor: $254,000 – $272,000

Clinical Associate Professor: $294,000 – $312,000

Clinical Professor: $349,000 – $376,000

This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicine’s faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
