Position Accountabilities and Essential Functions:

• This position is required to provide top quality customer service to students, employees and outside agencies at all times in all forms of communication including in person, phone, e-mail, etc.
• Responsible for providing assistance and information for students concerning financial aid or third-party agencies to cover student educational costs. This includes analyzing student accounts, processing refund checks and billing third party agencies.
• These duties also include processing of all student-aid authorizations including financial aid and third-party sponsored students for each semester's registration, including web and on-campus registration.
• Continuously assisting financial aid students with the add-drop process.
• Assist Records and Registration and the Financial Aid offices in resolving any problems or disputes regarding a student's enrollment and eligibility for each semester.
  
  

• Responsible for analyzing student accounts and billing students where appropriate when a balance due results from activities such as: students adds or drops their classes, over-charge in the bookstore or losing financial aid. This includes placing a restriction on the student's account when applicable and notifying the student regarding their balance due.
• Responsible for the coordination of student sponsor billing invoices and collection of outstanding balances. This includes analyzing students accounts and billing companies and students for educational costs. This requires knowledge of the applicable Colleague applications, Microsoft Word and Excel, and the different agencies' standards and regulations.
• Responsible for communicating with Financial Aid and Records and Registration Offices in analyzing student accounts for refunds and billings.
• Assisting in the internal collections of student outstanding balances including follow-up on any that require formal collection procedures. Assists students in setting up a plan to pay off prior semester debts.

• Responsible for the reconciliation of veteran payments. This includes working closely with the Veteran Office to determine the student's eligibility versus payment received, ie. VAVR, VA33, Go Army, and WAWF, etc. This includes accurately refunding overpayments to the appropriate Veteran Services Agency or the student, as applicable.

• This position is the primary contact for all sponsored students, and third party sponsor agencies. This involves receiving and analyzing billing authorizations, coding students and setting up sponsorships in Colleague, reviewing and analyzing the billing for sponsored students and sending invoices to Sponsors. This position will do all follow up of outstanding sponsor billing receivables and refer to the Collection Coordinator any accounts that are unpaid and need further collection steps.

• Maintaining accurate files for all Finance Office records. Scanning and filing of all student receivable records. Accountable for other related finance/accounting responsibilities as assigned.
• Preparing bank reconciliation for the Payroll account
• Backup for Accounts Payable checks, including Financial Aid Balance and Cash Refund Checks, and Loan checks.
  
  

Required Qualifications:

• Associates degree or equivalent knowledge and skills in accounting, business, finance or relatable field
• 1 – 3 years of position related experience.
