The Financial Analyst will support the cancer research program within the Comprehensive Cancer Center at the Ohio State University.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform complex financial analysis of financials of programs, projects, and funds for data mining.
• Utilize databases, Excel, Access, and/or TABLEAU to assist Manager Financial Analysis in producing financial analytical reports, scorecards, and summaries related to the Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC) Programs, membership, and associated departments and divisions for senior management to support key decisions.
• Assist with the responsibility for analysis of funds including 156 James Development and Endowment funds totaling approximately $15.9 Million to collect data and maintain spreadsheets and funding databases for Intramural Research Awards (IRP), Pelotonia Fellowship Awards, and CCC Funding as well as upcoming databases.
• Validate and ensure accuracy, consistency, and appropriate use of data in reports.
• Assist with coordinating with the IT and Finance teams regarding database creation and maintenance.
• Must understand the fiscal process and how data is reported in General Ledger as well as the CCC financial reconciliation and budgeting process and requires a thorough understanding of supported business operations.
• Assist with budget to actual data on monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for fund financial review and forecasting.
• Review progress reports and analyze financials and grants to create reports for programmatic Return on Investment (ROI) for publications and grants listed and maintains ROI for IRP and Fellowship Awardees.
• Collect accurate data from PI Portal, NIH reporter, and PubMed. Works with Pelotonia Fellowship Administrator Manager, Manager Financial Analysis and Finance Director to assist with reporting requests and prepare customized reports for special projects as needed.
• Work directly with OSUCCC-supported Faculty to provide support in financial management, budgeting, reporting and other financial services as needed.
• Process and perform other financial and accounting duties as assigned.

Minimum Education Required:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Required Qualifications:

• 2 years of relevant experience is required, 4+ years preferred.
• Strong analytical skills, computer skills, and the ability to manage time efficiently to complete multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
• Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office required. Proficiency in Tableau highly desired.
• Knowledge of the general ledger is desirable.
• Requires successful completion of a background check.
• Selected candidate may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
