Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

HIS Clerk is responsible for accurately copying, charting, filing and/or mailing reports from the contract Transcription Service. Provided clerical duties with filing, telephones, prepping and assisting physicians with Horizon Patient Folder.

What It Takes to be Successful

Required Qualifications:

1) Requires a minimum of one (1) year experience as Health Information Clerk in an acute care facility Health Information Services Department

2) Good working knowledge of numeric and alphabetic sequencing

3) Excellent communication skills and ability to relate to and work with other departments' staff

4) Typing skills for use in computer

• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
