Job Summary:
The Comparative American Studies Program (CAS) and the Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies Program (GSFS) in the College of Arts and Sciences at Oberlin College invites applications for a 1 year Visiting Assistant Professor position in LGBTQ Studies/Queer Theory, beginning fall semester of 2025.
Responsibilities:
The incumbent will teach 5 courses per year in LGBTQ Studies/Queer Theory. This is an equal joint appointment in CAS and GSFS so the incumbent will teach core courses for these interdisciplinary programs as well as intermediate and advanced topics in their sub-fields.
Both CAS and GSFS are committed to interdisciplinary and intersectional pedagogy at the undergraduate level. Faculty are expected to integrate issues of gender, race, ethnicity, class, sexuality, and citizenship within comparative and/or transnational frames in their teaching.
Required qualifications:
Among the qualifications required for appointment is the Ph.D. (in hand or expected by first semester of academic year 2024). Compensation:
Within the range established for this position, salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and includes a competitive benefits package.
