The Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine, University of Washington School of Medicine and UW Heart Institute is recruiting an Assistant Professor on the Clinical Practice Track with an anticipated start date will September 1, 2025.

The position includes engagement in patient care, scholarship, and medical education. The candidate will have opportunities to provide a strong commitment to patient care with an interest in any specialty within Cardiology, practicing dynamic, cutting-edge medicine at one of the top-rated hospitals in the state of Washington. The successful candidate will have an outpatient clinical practice. Teaching duties will include didactic lecturing and depending on clinical interest and subspecialty training, bedside education on an inpatient Cardiology service, outpatient Cardiology clinic, or Cardiac procedural area to Cardiology or subspecialty fellows. The successful candidate will be expected to provide effective leadership and support the department's commitment to patient care, scholarship and medical education.  The initial appointment period will be three years, at a minimum, with eligibility for renewal thereafter. Faculty on the clinical practice track hold multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Clinical Practice track appointments are not eligible for tenure.

This position is paid directly by VA Puget Sound Health Care System (VAPSHCS) and receives no UW compensation.  Please refer to VA Puget Sound Health Care System (VAPSHCS) for information about compensation for this position.
