The Director of the Women’s Resource Center and Gender and Sexuality Center is a 12-month position which serves as a member of the department of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Reporting directly to the Executive Director of DEI, this person will coordinate, plan and assess programs and initiatives for the Women’s Resource Center and Gender and Sexuality Center. This individual will serve as the center’s principal advisor for developing, enhancing and assessing the campus culture and its impact on students who identify as female, as well as students who identify as members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Duties:

• Assist in the developing and implementing strategic initiatives, student and campus outreach, assessment, follow-up and programmatic opportunities for the student populations of the Women’s Resource Center and Gender and Sexuality Center.
• Develop and enhance a culture of inclusion, appreciation, understanding, and support for both female and LGBTQIA+ communities at Commonwealth University.
• Partner with academic programs, presidential commissions, student groups, and the Title IX coordinator to serve as a resource, support, and champion for equality where female and LGBTQIA+ students may be impacted.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive array of campus-wide programming related to the overall success, appreciation and integration of the female and LGBTQIA+ populations.
• Participate in campus-wide planning for inclusion, equity, and safety.
• Actively listen and provide appropriate resource for students experiencing issues related to gender status or gender identity.
• Be an immediate resource for students who may be experiencing crisis as a result of concerns or issues related to gender and LGBTQIA+.
• Provide educational programming to create a safe and inclusive campus culture.

• Direct, manage, or collaborate on the development and implementation of signature programs focusing on supporting females and LGBTQIA+ communities.
• Develop and implement additional educational programming to meet stated goals that promote an inclusive campus environment.
• Manage, update, and make available a variety of resources for the campus community, including keeping the website current and offering materials in the centers and around campus.
• Develop and coordinate programs for the Center for Diversity and Inclusion which includes the Multicultural Center, LGBTQA, Student Services, and International Education.

• May be asked to serve on divisional/institutional/PASSHE committees
• Continued professional development related to student concerns; continued knowledge of best practices and innovative approaches.
• Represent institution in appropriate professional or community organizations.
• Occasional evening and weekend work may be required, along with travel to Commonwealth University campuses (Lock Haven and Mansfield).
• Other duties as assigned.
