The fulltime lecturer in agricultural communication and education will be responsible for planning instruction, grading, and teaching 3-5 undergraduate courses each during the Autumn and Spring semesters. Instructional opportunities for supplemental compensation during the summer term are a possibility and will be determined based on program needs, candidate qualifications, and candidate interest. The majority of courses will be at the undergraduate level, although some graduate courses may be assigned to the successful candidate dependent upon candidate skills, qualifications, and prior professional experience. Potential course topics relate to public speaking, teaching methods (formal and/or non-formal), educational program planning, context-based learning, curriculum design, youth development, and experiential learning. In addition to planning and delivering instruction, the lecturer is expected to supervise graduate student lab instructors, be an active, contributing member of the ACEL faculty team engaging in curriculum decisions, program assessment data collection efforts, student recruitment, and strategic planning for ACELs academic
programs.

The position requires in-person instruction five days per week on the Columbus campus during the autumn and spring terms.

Opportunities for academic or student organization advising may exist dependent upon candidate qualifications, interest, and program needs.

Essential Duties:
1. Modify curriculum and plan instruction for existing courses
2. Teach 6-8 courses per year dependent upon program needs
3. Provide timely and developmental feedback on student learning
4. Collect and supply data related to program assessment
5. Engage in student recruitment efforts when possible
6. Active engagement as a contributing member of the ACEL academic programs team particularly with the Agriscience Education degree program
7. Serve as an active and positive advocate for career opportunities related to ACEL and CFAES degree programs

Minimum Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Abilities:
Masters degree in agricultural education, or a related discipline. A minimum of three years work experience in agricultural education, extension education, or a field relevant to the potential course topics, excellent written and oral
communication skills. The candidate must have prior experience facilitating group learning opportunities; and a willingness to interact with and support the professional growth of educators and communicators from a variety of
backgrounds.

Desirable Experience, Skills and Abilities:
Graduate coursework in social science statistical analysis is preferred.
Public School teaching experience as an agricultural education instructor is preferred.
