Grants and Contracts Management Specialist to coordinate and assist with pre- and post-award activities in collaboration with Grants and Contracts Specialists in the Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Duties Include:

• Coordinates and assists with fiscal management of research grants

• Reconciles project expenses to budgets and sends financial summaries to PIs

• Monitors project budgets and reviews expenditures for approval

• Monitors and oversees personnel appointments on projects

• Monitors and notifies principal investigators of funding opportunities

• Participates in the development of grant budgets

• Prepares grant budget proposals in collaboration with grant and contract specialists

• Assists with preparation and submission of research progress reports

• Ensures compliance with sponsor, university and third party regulations

• Assists PIs with effort certification and PET approval

• Assists with close-out of projects

• Coordinates sponsor invoicing activities and payment recognition for active studies and research agreements

• Assists with entry of financial data for invoicing, payment recognition and cost analysis purposes.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.

• Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
