The Fire Protection and Safety (FPS) Program prepares fire fighters who wish to upgrade their career status. Graduates also qualify to transfer to four-year colleges or universities in fire protection and safety. The FPS Program is seeking instructors to teach in-person courses during evening hours (6:00 P.M. - 8:45 P.M.).

We are seeking an instructor with the following skills:

• Field experience as a firefighter, fire chief, fire instructor, or emergency services professional
• Knowledge of state fire standards, National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) regulations, and fire prevention policies.
• Flexibility to teach in-person, evenings or weekends
• Master's degree in Fire Science, Fire Administration, Public Safety, Emergency Management, or a related field.

Available course(s) starting Fall 2025.

• Master's degree in Fire Science, Fire Administration, Public Safety, Emergency Management, or a related field OR a Master's degree in another field with significant professional experience in fire services OR Bachelor's degree in Fire Science (or a related field) with extensive professional experience.
• Preferred experience as a firefighter, fire chief, fire instructor, or emergency services professional.
• Engage with community college faculty, staff, and students to support student success.
• Knowledge of state fire standards, NFPA regulations, and fire prevention policies.

Salary: $1,397.00 per credit hour
