The Clinical Care Coordinator Nurse in the department of surgical specialties/otolaryngology is accountable for the delivery of culturally sensitive, age specific direct patient care, including, but not limited to:
- Care coordination for patients (adult and pediatric) and families in the department of otolaryngology in all subspecialty divisions.
- Direct patient care of patients with complex otolaryngology conditions
- Direct patient care for the adult otolaryngology population during procedures in a fast-paced specialty clinic environment
- Care of pediatric and adult otolaryngology patients.
- Collaboration with other health team members and associated resource person to ensure continuity of care across all care environments
- Willingness to adapt to different populations as adult and pediatric otolaryngology medicine demands. (Orientation and training provided for new subspecialties on expansion of divisions).
- Adaptability to changing needs and priorities based on unit, department, and institutional goals/objectives
- Assistance in the development and implementation of competencies, protocols and patient education tools to improve patient care, and other duties assigned.

A current license in the State of Michigan as a Registered Nurse.
Educational Requirement; applicant must meet one of the following:
- Bachelor?s degree in Nursing OR
- Associates degree or diploma in Nursing and a Master?s degree in Nursing
Five (5) years or more of RN experience
Current ambulatory care RN experience (2 years within the last 2 years) with the following adult surgical populations: Adult otolaryngology inclusive of Head and Neck surgery, laryngology (vocal health), rhinology, facial plastics, otology, general otolaryngology.
Minimally two (2) years of RN experience with phone triage in the ambulatory care setting.
Experience with assisting with procedures in the otolaryngology setting including: Temporal Artery Biopsies, Blepharoplasty, Botox injections, Wide Local Excisions, Restylane filler, and PDL procedures

Experience with tracheostomy care.
Inpatient experience with the otolaryngology patient population.
Previous Clinical Care Coordinator experience.

Demonstrated ability to maintain professional working relationships
Demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking skills in daily practice.
Two (2) or more years of recent (in last 5 years) experience with electronic medical records, specifically EPIC. Computer/typing skills such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
Salary & Nursing Framework Level:
This UMPNC RN posting is posted under the Role-Specific Advancement Model (RSAM) as:
CCC- COMPETENT NE.
Actual RSAM LEVEL and salary will be determined at time of hire.
RSAM levels range from CCC-COMPETENT NE to CCC-EXPERT NE TO CCC-MASTERY NE or CCC-Mastery Plus NE.

Hours: 40 hrs/wk, variable shifts, Monday through Friday. Potential Weekends and Holidays.
Shift: Days, Variable shifts. Flexibility in scheduling is required.
Location: Primary work location will be at the TC Otolaryngology clinic, with potential to work in other locations such as BCSC, WAA, NHC, or other clinics locations with expansion. This position is not a remote position.
***This position will have a July 2025 start date.
