GENERAL FUNCTIONS:

The Director of Applications & Integrations is responsible for the programming support and maintenance of Banner, Degree Works, Argos, the college website, Intranet portal, and other key business critical applications. This also includes the creation and maintenance of interfaces to third party products including data to and from Banner.  Additionally, they maintain the security of student information and employee data both on site and with key partners.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

A. Individual Responsibilities

1. Administrative Systems

• Partner with campus stakeholders to assess, prioritize, and manage stakeholder needs regarding the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Student Information Systems (SIS), and other administrative applications to ensure investments in these systems meet business requirements.
• Facilitate integration between administrative systems and other on-premises and hosted software modules
• Act as a subject matter expert for the college's data governance and IT governance efforts related to administrative systems.
• Take responsibility for the development and continuous improvement of enterprise-wide applications that support the administrative functions of the college, including all ERP, SIS, and other administrative applications
• Oversee any modifications, enhancements, or additions made to ERP, SIS, and other administrative applications

2. Serve as project manager for projects requiring Applications & Integrations expertise. Plan, direct, prioritize, delegate tasks, and manage workflow to complete projects within scope and on time.

3. Interact with vendors and colleagues to evaluate product offerings, training programs, and technical service/general management practices; acquire technical assistance as required to perform duties efficiently and effectively.

4. Explore and establish new services and technologies to improve processes for the college community as needed in consultation with the CIO, Information Technology Services (ITS) Leadership Team, and related governance committees.

B. Website & Intranet

1. Partner with campus stakeholders to assess, prioritize, and manage college stakeholder needs regarding the college's website and intranet to ensure system investments meet business requirements.

2. Take responsibility for the development and continuous improvement of the website and intranet sites.

C. Electronic & Information Technology (EIT) Accessibility

1. Serve as the college's EIT Officer, assuring the collaborative continual development and progress towards an Accessibility Plan, consistent with local shared and faculty governance processes.

2. Assure that the college's website and administrative systems meet or exceed federal, state, and local accessibility regulations

3. Partner with the college's EIT Committee to advance accessibility in EIT areas including, but not limited to, Websites, Software, Digital Content, and Procurement

D. Managerial Responsibilities

1. Supervise, develop, and provide day-to-day direction to staff, including along with the CIO, annual performance reviews and updates of performance programs. Coordinate and oversee the supervision of the temporary service and work-study student employees. Hold regular staff meetings.

2. Actively participate in ITS strategic planning and assessment processes. Work with the ITS Leadership Team to strategically plan for technology in line with the mission and goals of the College. Develop plans for and manage the implementation of projects to accomplish Computer Services and College goals.

3. Attend ITS weekly Leadership Team meetings and represent ITS on campus committees as needed.

4. Keep departmental procedures and processes current and consistent with divisional practice; ensure staff follows departmental and College policies/procedures, including keeping hardware inventory, software inventory, data inventory, key inventory, and electronic access (passwords) up to date.

5. Work constantly toward increasing the campus community awareness of ITS through NewsNotes articles, email, self-help documents, web pages, documentation, signage, etc. Track usage of services as appropriate.

6. Coordinate the maintenance of the ITS web pages to assure the pages stay current and provide the user community with robust information. Post, in a timely manner, to the status web page any scheduled changes and down times, outages and problems when appropriate.

7. Prepare and oversee an annual departmental budget. Propose year-end and one-time expenditures. Provide proposals and input for the college-wide budget and technology capital expenditures.

8. Contribute to the ITS Annual Report accomplishments and plans that relate to Computer Services goals.

9. Provide backup to the CIO during absences due to vacations, collaborate with departments and related entities that require servers and services to determine and meet their needs as required.

E. General Requirements and Teams

1. Perform incidental duties associated with the day-to-day functions of the offices of ITS, most of which entail front-line interaction with campus computer users, both in person and remotely. These tasks include [but are not limited to] resolving computing problems for walk-in users, answering the telephone, taking messages, covering for staff absences, and completing purchase requisitions.

2. Contribute to the publication of technical and informational newsletters, electronic communications, bulletins, and ITS web pages where appropriate.

3. Contribute to the instruction of training courses for campus computing users and staff where appropriate. Attend training seminars and business meetings to extend specialized skills for staff and project management as approved by the CIO.

4. Explore emerging technologies in computing and applications software and through readings in professional journals and product documentation.

5. All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

Bachelor's or Master's Degree (Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Leadership, development,  or related field preferred) with experience in application development, leading innovation, or process management

Experience

A minimum of three years' experience with a Master's degree or seven with a Bachelors, in Banner software, data governance, leading cross functional project teams, and supervisory experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills; Documented and demonstrated customer service orientation; Ability to function at a high-level in a fast-paced environment; Ability to collaborate with multiple teams (e.g. Academic Services, Business Office, Distributed Learning, Systems & Identity Mgt); Ability to work independently to prioritize tasks and problem-solve; High level proficiency using the M365 suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams); Strong organizational skills; Ability to maintain flexible work schedule to accommodate service demands, including some evenings and weekends; Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor professional staff members to produce a strong team-oriented environment; Demonstrated expert knowledge of Ellucian Banner Software modules including knowledge of the underlying data structures and the application software; Ability to present technical information and ideas clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing; Ability to work effectively with other departments across the institution; Ability to work with peers across the institution to solve campus problems and provide excellent customer support; A demonstrated understanding of the use of Enterprise Database Management Systems such as Oracle and related application tools within an educational setting.  Must demonstrate commitment and ability to work effectively with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and constituents in support of campus and department mission. Is mindful of and develops accessibility solutions that can accommodate all individuals to use GCC facilities without barriers, both digitally and physically.

RELATIONSHIPS:

The Director of Applications & Integrations supervises a team of Banner and website developers. The Executive Director works collaboratively with the HelpDesk, the Distributed Learning department, the Networking team, the Systems & Identity Management, and the Desktop Deployment team. This position reports to the Vice President & Chief Information Officer.

SALARY AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

This is a full-time, year round position (including summers) at 35 hours per week. Compensation is at a rate of $85,000-$90,000/ annually. Salary, benefits, and conditions of employment are as set by the GEA contract. Evening and weekend hours may be required.  This position will require an in person, on campus presence and is not remote.  Incumbent may apply for partial remote work after 90 days.
