Position Summary

The Knight Alzheimer's Disease Research Center's Clinical Trials Unit (https://knightalzheimertrials.wustl.edu/) is seeking an experienced, self-motivated, self-driven person to work as a part of a dynamic group in a fast-paced environment. This person will work in a collegial environment and join a multidisciplinary, diverse team in a well-established, well-funded research group to conduct clinical trials for the most promising new drugs for the treatment of Alzheimer disease and other dementias.

Under the direction of the Clinical Trials Manager or PI, this role will participate in moderately complex clinical research study activities. The Clinical Research Study Assistant will be responsible primarily for a variety of duties involved in the collection, documentation, and reporting of clinical research data. This position will also be responsible for the handling/processing of multiple studies' biospecimens including, but not limited to: blood, plasma, serum, and urine. They will perform a variety of duties including the oversight, organization and handling of these biospecimen samples for these multiple studies. They will ship samples and be responsible for an accurate manifest. They will be responsible for monitoring lab kits for multiple studies, ordering more as needed and destroying any expired kits. As needed, they may draw blood from research participants. They may also be involved in such activities such as calling and reminding participants of their upcoming visits. They may also assist in the preparation of any required regulatory documents. They will work with the study team for any other responsibilities that may be needed.

Job Description

• Enters data from study participants, medical records, interviews, questionnaires, diagnostic tests and other sources into a study's EDC (electronic data capture) system; performs basic evaluation and interpretation of collected data and prepares appropriate reports and documentation as necessary
• Processes and ships biological specimens
• Facilitates effective communication among research team members and people at all participating facilities.
• Participates in post-recruitment activities, such as calling and reminding participants of their upcoming visits.
• Assistance with preparation and collection of regulatory documents
• Assists with other duties as assigned by research team
• Perform other duties as assigned

Salary Range

$19.21 - $28.85 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
