Visiting Assistant Professor of Data Science and IT Programs
Position Purpose
The Management Division at New England College in Henniker, New Hampshire, invites applications for an on-campus Visiting Assistant Professor of Data Science and IT Programs. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, contribute to the division's academic mission through innovative teaching methods, and serve the institution.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of programs at the intersection of Data Science and IT. Candidates passionate about teaching and providing an engaging learning environment are encouraged to apply.
Essential Duties Summary
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses on-campus in Data Science and related programs such as AI, CIS, Cyber, & Health Informatics, including programming and other IT courses.
- Participate in curriculum development and program and course updates.
- Provide academic and internship advising and mentorship to undergraduate and graduate students.
- Serve on departmental and institutional committees as assigned.
- Participate in executive master's residencies and field trips.
Required Qualifications
- Disciplinary knowledge in Data Science & IT fields. Earned master's degree or terminal degree in a related discipline with 18 credit hours in a specialty IT area preferred.
- Strong dedication to undergraduate and graduate student success.
- Skilled in teaching courses in face-to-face, hybrid, online, and asynchronous formats.
- Demonstrated knowledge and use of effective, innovative teaching methods.
- Ability to work collaboratively with undergraduate and graduate students and faculty.
- Commitment to active learning, experiential education, and innovative pedagogy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Related industry experience.
- Professional industry certifications.
- Teaching experience in related disciplines.
