Responsibilities:

Minimum Qualifications:

• A terminal degree in the field of speciality is preferred (MFA, PH.D, ABD, or equivalent)
• 2-3 years of teaching experience, preferably in college/ university/ art school settings (Community, teaching artist experience, museum, K-12 teaching experience considered)
• Ability to demonstrate (in curriculum and student work) pedagogical knowledge relevant to the Drawing/Imaging course:

• Working knowledge of techniques of observational drawing including figure and object in the environment as demonstrated through a body of creative work or courses taught. Drawing techniques include: sketching, contour, gesture, one-point or two-point perspective.
• Working knowledge of, and capacity to teach at an introductory level, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator as demonstrated through a body of creative work or courses taught.
• Experience using a variety of pedagogic methods to contextualize projects, exercises, and tools, within traditions of image-making as well as contemporary practice.
• Ability to demonstrate (in curriculum and student work) pedagogical knowledge relevant to the First Year experience including:
• Build community in the classroom as a starting point for all course work and is skilled in inclusive teaching and learning
  
  
• Teach to a classroom of students with a variety of interests and levels by distilling complex concepts into accessible and scaffolded projects
  
  
• A creative and/or scholarly practice that demonstrates currency in the field(s), disciplinary expertise, and interdisciplinary thinking
  
  
• Ability to adhere to University COVID-19 Policy and requirements.
