- Respond promptly to student questions and provide availability for student support.
- Utilize appropriate technology to enhance the learning experience.
- Assess learning outcomes and adapt the curriculum to meet educational objectives.
- Demonstrate insight and encouragement when working with diverse student populations, particularly those traditionally underrepresented in higher education.
- Provide academic advising to support timely degree completion for students.
- Innovate in lecture presentations and hands-on learning activities to achieve desired learning outcomes.
- Ensure accountability in fulfilling the needs of the Department and the College, including the timely submission of grades and other required materials.

All candidates should have an outstanding record of academic achievement and be prepared for the responsibilities of a tenured/tenurable faculty member in a Carnegie-designated research (R2) institution with aspirations to become a very high research doctoral granting (R1) institution.
