Position Summary

Donâ™t miss the opportunity to join the Electrophysiology team in WashUâ™s Cardiovascular Division. Our providers are world-renowned experts in Electrophysiology where they provide outstanding clinical care and mentor fellows. Our EP team members are field leaders in clinical research.

The EP team consists of 8 physician providers, 3 advanced practice nurses, 3 administrative coordinators, and 12 nurse coordinators that rotate to support all clinic locations. Our main clinic location is CAM Kingshighway, and we have outreach clinics at Heart Care Institute/West County, and CAM South County.

We are expanding to Memorial Belleville Hospital and are seeking an independent nurse coordinator to help support this location. Although the nurse coordinator will work alone at the Illinois location, they will be supported by our strong collaborative group. All team members receive robust EP device nurse training prior to working independently at any of our locations. A successful candidate will have at least 2 years of cardiology experience, including telemetry and basic EKG interpretation.

Nurse coordinators help support the needs of patients while working closely with the clinicians and the rest of the EP team as patient advocates. They handle device interrogations, coordinate the scheduling of EP procedures, help triage patient care needs, move treatment plans forward, assist with insurance navigation, and provide education and safety oversight for our patients. Nurse coordinators also help patients overcome social health deterrents by collaborating with other healthcare professionals and organizations. EP nurse coordinators develop a rewarding, and strong professional relationship with their patient population.

This is a weekday position from 8am â“ 4:30pm. There is an opportunity for hybrid scheduling after the first year of successful employment. No weekends or holidays!

Job Description

• Provides direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patients; completes health history and physical examination on patients; conveys findings to physician.
• Coordinates patient care, orders diagnostic tests, conveys findings to physician, attends inpatient rounds, coordinates patient appointments and assists with referrals to outside sources.
• Assists physician and provides support with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.
• Performs a variety of nursing administrative duties, including compliance with environmental safety regulations, infection control standards and quality assurance.
• Acts as liaison and team leader by facilitating communication and coordination of care between patients, families and health team members; explains routines and procedures to patients and coordinates patient care information to appropriate sources.

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with two years of nursing experience.
• Current RN licensure in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois, depending on location, in accordance with the Compact Act.
• Basic Life Support Certification or obtains certification within one month of employment. Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements.

Salary Range

$60,800.00 - $105,700.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
