Job Description Summary
Under direction of the Associate Director, Research Operations, provide post award administrative and financial support to assigned faculty and staff. Prepare monthly financial reports to monitor expenses and payroll. Serve as financial planner using multi-year projections for faculty to ensure heath of research programs. Act as a liaison with central departments to facilitate faculty and departmental needs in regards to research and compliance.

Job Responsibilities

• FINANCIAL MONITORING: Provide oversight of all transactions on sponsored project funding (Payroll, purchasing, cores, etc). Ensure compliance with sponsor and University guidelines. Review for wayward transactions and other errors.
• FINANCIAL REPORTING: Provide monthly/bi-monthly financial reports to all assigned faculty. Ensure compliance with Department/PSOM/ University policy.
• AWARD MAINTENANCE: Ensure timely completion of all reporting requirements for assigned awards. This includes progress reports, financial reports, etc.
• EFFORT REPORTING/PAYROLL: Manage research staff and faculty payroll records. Ensure effort is allocated appropriately and follows sponsor regulations. Review regularly with faculty so financial projections are accurate. Semi-annual effort report completion.
• STAFF TRAINING: Ensure research staff have appropriate knowledge base for purchasing on sponsored projects. Educate faculty on award compliance. Train Grants Coordinator, Financial Coordinators as needed.
• Award setup & PHS FITS: Ensure FCOI compliance for all sponsored projects. Work with faculty to ensure processed efficiently and complete full award setup including budget entry, salary allocations, core access, etc.
• LIAISON: Represent the department in interactions with University, School and external agencies regarding sponsored project administration and finance.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

• Grants Manager B:
• Will also provide training and oversight to Grants Coordinators. Will be responsible for complex funding mechanisms. Provide insight on policy and procedure updates/changes/implementation. Serve on School committees as needed.

Qualifications

• GM-A: Bachelor of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• GM-B: Bachelor of Science and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
