Position Summary:
This position would assist in various operations within the residence halls and student life areas. The primary responsibilities would include floor care, furniture setups & care, supervision of student employees, and assisting with waste management. Floor technician roles include stripping and finishing floors, spot cleaning and deep cleaning of carpets, and repairs of carpet/other flooring.
The position will also provide assistance with some housekeeping and light maintenance duties.
This position is highly visible throughout the department and the University. This position interacts on a frequent basis with students, staff, faculty, and visitors of the University. All Housing and Student Life Operations staff are expected to represent the department and university well in these interactions.
Minimum Education/Experience/Skill :
Preferred Education/Experience/Skill :
- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- The ideal candidate will have at least 6-9 months experience in housekeeping and/or floor care. Experience in an educational setting would be a plus.
- Knowledge & experience in maintaining all floor types including carpets and tile is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with furniture repair, setups, moving, and cleaning is desired.
