Your Role on the Team

1. Your primary responsibility will be the establishment of a productive community Hematology Oncology practice as a member of the Community Cancer Network.

2. You will be expected to join the on-call coverage schedule being developed for the Community Cancer Network. Your on-call coverage will be limited to UCI Health Fountain Valley Hospital and Providence Mission Hospital.

3. Per compliance policy for HIM, medical staff and Department of Medicine, all patient activity shall be documented in a timely manner through appropriate dictations into the hospital system or recorded on an encounter form, and/or through detailed notes in the patient medical record. This process will also help facilitate timely billing. All charts shall be maintained through the Medical Center and will be subject to applicable Compliance, Quality Assurance and Utilization reviews.

4. In order to remain apprised of all university policy changes, you will need to complete all required computer-based training (CBT) as stipulated by the Medical Center and the UCI School of Medicine. You are expected to abide by all HIPAA and other patient safeguards as stipulated by the UCI Corporate Compliance Office.

5. It is expected that all of your medical practice will be conducted at UCI sites unless formally authorized by the Service Agreements Committee of the Medical Center following recommendation of the Hematology/Oncology Division Chief, Department of Medicine Chair and the Cancer Center Physician-in-chief.

• Demonstrated experience in quality improvement to improve patient outcomes.
• Adhere to departmental policies, procedures, and objectives while in compliance of all UC policies and procedures. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all state and federal privacy laws.
• Leadership skills; ability to motivate, inspire, communicate with faculty, residents, staff, and peers to maintain a professional, team-based approach in the care of patients.
