Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

The incumbent directly supervises laboratory technical and administrative functions for a distinct operational unit consisting of technologists who perform a wide variety of laboratory duties including but not limited to preanalytical processes and testing through data analysis and reporting; or technicians who provide a wide range of laboratory support services; or a combination of both. The incumbent will work closely with departmental heads to understand patient care testing needs, evaluate and adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate peak testing times, emergencies, and special circumstances; ensure that staffing adjustments align with budgetary constraints and operational efficiency. The role also includes performing bench testing as needed. This position will have dual reporting - to an on-site Manager for operational inquiries and support, and to the Orange Campus Blood Bank Manager for technical inquiries and guidance.

Required Qualifications:

• Two or more years applicable experience
• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Must be willing to work variable shifts and overtime as required
• Must be willing to testify in court regarding testing activities if subpoenaed
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Current CA CLS License
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in supervision
• Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms

• CLS
