Position Purpose:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Specialized training in sport psychology and/or AASP certification, OR minimum of three years clinical experience and sports psychology experience and/or experience working with Division I collegiate (and/or elite) athletes.
• Licensed or license eligible as a Psychologist in the State of Michigan (must obtain license within six-months of hire).
• Experience in conducting short-term psychotherapy with a diverse population of students, staff and faculty; including crisis work, psychological evaluations, consultations, group therapy, outreach/prevention services, and writing timely psychological notes and reports.
• Ability to establish and maintain psychoeducational programming for the athletic department.
• Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills that enable interaction with athletic staff, sport medicine staff, colleagues, administrators, faculty, and student-athletes.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary treatment team and to case manage referrals to campus and community partners.
• Knowledge of NCAA and industry rules and regulations.
• Flexible work schedule required. Position may require early mornings, evening, and weekend hours.

Desired Qualifications:

• Doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
• Current certification as a Sports Psychologist / Certified Mental Performance Coach (CMPC)
