Job Description Summary
This position will provide assistance to the clinical project's manager of multiple microbiome and virome projects, in executing the goals of those projects. Under direct supervision of the nurse (clinical project's manager) this individual will assist with clerical, data entry, sample delivery aspects and assist with recruitment, screening and non-invasive sample collections of potential subjects.

Job Description

This position will provide direct assistance to the clinical nurse manager on multiple microbiome and virome projects, in executing the goals of the research projects. Perform a variety of routine duties that are required to allow a research study to function such as filing, copying, creating research packets, maintaining the study database, assist with organization of the IRB documentation, data entry and creating excel logs. In addition to, enrolling, consenting and accompanying research participants to their bronchoscopy, tracheostomy etc procedures transport and collecting specimens (non-invasive). Answering phones, taking messages, ordering supplies and obtain signatures from physicians or other members of the research team.

Job Responsibilities

• Data entry into database systems; create Excel spreadsheets as needed.
  
• Ensure that IRB documents are up to date and filed, under supervision of Clinical Project manager; prepare consent packets for study participants
  
• Complete telephone screening; assist Clinical Project Manager with consenting as needed; make follow up calls/reminders to study participants.
  
• Prepare document packets and labels to be used for data and sample collection
  
• Deliver/transport documents, supplies and specimens between designated location at PPH, HUP and PSOM
  
• Accompany participants during study visits and during bronchoscopy procedures
  
• Prepare request to be given to business office for study supply purchase orders
  
• Monitor progress towards recruitment goals and prepare updates for team operational meetings
  
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree is required BS preferred and 1-2 years of experience in research or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Proficient in word processing database, PennChart and CTMS required, Redcap preferred, excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, must work well with diverse group of individuals.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, as well as internal and market factors and grade profile.
