The Research Project Manager I (RPM I) will support the Cohort Studies program under the auspices of the Principal Investigator(s) and Associate Director of Translational Research, in the areas of day-to-day coordination and overall management of the Dr. Parson?s Lab within the Department of Breast Oncology. The Parsons Laboratory fosters and conducts innovative research to develop and implement novel blood biopsy technologies to decrease under- and over-treatment of breast cancer and to deliver correct therapies to those who need them most. Duties may include but are not limited to; developing infrastructure, procedures, and tracking systems for project management and lab organization. The Research Project Manager will work closely and collaboratively with a variety of faculty and staff at all levels throughout DFCI, including physicians, clinical trials managers, senior program coordinators, finance managers and department administrative staff.

This is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days per week onsite. The selected candidate may only work remotely within the New England states (ME, VT, NH, MA, CT, RI).

Administrative Duties

• Oversee and organize monthly ctDNA journal club and the ctDNA working group, including scheduling speakers, preparing materials, and in general coordinate with the liquid biopsy institute-wide group to align project goals and activities at the institute level.
• Manage and coordinate projects under the ctDNA initiative as they arise.
• Organize and maintain project documentation, including protocols, reports, and data.
• Assist in writing grant proposals and donor reports with confidentiality and accuracy.
• Learn and apply data analysis tools (such as R) to support research.

Lab Duties

• Oversight of Project Portfolio: Ensure smooth project progress and timely task completion.
• Liaise with external collaborators to ensure efficient workflow.
• Establish and document lab workflows to improve efficiency.
• Present at lab meetings and maintain the lab schedule, sharing updates with external collaborators.
• Create swimmer plots to visualize research data.

• Bachelor's degree required in a field relevant to clinical research.

• 1 - 3 years experience with project management and experience working on clinical trials (multi-center, oncology trials perferred).

• Experience in an academic institution and proven history of success in clinical research field is preferred.

• Must have knowledge of regulatory affairs, research ethics and the responsible conduct of research.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Proven experience in project management, particularly in laboratory or research settings.
• Experience with data analytics platforms (preferrably R) or willingness to learn is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with project documentation, protocols, and data management.
• Willingness to learn and apply data analysis tools (R experience is a plus).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
