General Statement of Duties:

Information Technology Services is currently seeking a Systems Support Specialist. The primary duties of this position include maintenance, deployment, and support of enterprise and web applications including, but not limited to, QuickLaunch Single Sign-On, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, PaperCut, Dynamic Forms, Rubrik, and Sophos. The role is also responsible for deploying and maintaining virtual Windows servers in VMWare vSphere, including managing Active Directory and Group Policy, WSUS, file server, print server, and others. This also includes updating Windows Server and software with the latest security patches. The position requires experience organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments, as well as proven project management skills, including the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities:

• Installs, configures, supports, maintains, upgrades, and ensures the integrity of systems and software in support of business requirements and in accordance with established information technology policies and procedures.
• Monitors and tunes systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
• Researches and resolves system and software issues.
• Provides hardware and system software recommendations with specifications for planning, budgeting, and purchasing purposes.
• Develops, promotes, and follows standard operating procedures.
• Resolves complex procedural, operational, and technical problems.
• Responsible for the design, implementation, and adherence to appropriate multilayered security mechanisms to safeguard data from unauthorized access and ensure system integrity.
• Serves as a Tier III issue resolution resource person.
• Participates in projects as required.
• Backup for contacting third-party support if network issues arise.
• Assumes additional responsibilities as may be determined by the Executive Director of IT.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of software, hardware, and support-related experience or 
• 7+ years of software, hardware, and support-related experience.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with updating Windows Server and software with the latest security patches.
• Experience with Windows server deployment and maintenance, including managing Active Directory and Group Policy, file server, WSUS, print server, and others.
• Experience leading the technical aspects of systems implementation and working closely with functional staff in various departments with varying technical expertise.
• Experience in the maintenance, deployment, and support of enterprise and web applications, specifically Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
• Ability to quickly learn and manage enterprise systems. Examples include PaperCut, Dynamic Forms, Rubrik, and Sophos.
• Experience with vSphere virtualization software.
• Strong oral and written communication skills

Hours of Duty:

Due to the nature of information technology systems and responsibilities, work outside normal business hours is required from time to time.
