Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

The Critical Care Clinical Nurse Educator is responsible for the design and implementation of housewide and unit specific education programs and professional development of nurses in their assigned nursing service; focused on clinical outcomes and practice development. Will provide leadership, clinical expertise, and guidance, and ensures effective patient care delivery systems that are consistent with the plan of care and standards of practice. The CNE will work closely with department managers and the Nursing Quality Research and Education team on the educational needs assessment and orientation programs for staff. Ensures that competencies and skills are current and relevant for the nursing staff. Responsible for special projects as assigned by the Director.

THIS IS A LIMITED APPOINTMENT POSITION WITH AN EXPECTED TERM LENGTH OF NO MORE THAN 6 MONTHS.

Required Qualifications:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook)
• Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Minimum of three years of critical care nursing experience
• Knowledge of Title 22 and Joint Commission Requirements
• Experience in adult education
• Demonstrated teaching/education/in-service skills with the ability to lead effectively
• Demonstrated nursing experience in an acute care setting
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Licenses and Certifications:

• BLS
