A postdoctoral position under the direction of Professor Bernardo Cockburn is available at the University of Minnesota to participate in the development and analysis post-processing techniques of discontinuous Galerkin methods for convection-dominated flows. This position is supported by the ACCESS grant and involves collaboration with aerospace Engineers at the University of Minnesota.

Responsibilities:
(95%) Research:
Conduct high quality research and disseminate the results through publications and invited talks and conferences.
Participate in the research mission of the department, especially through interaction with faculty and students.
Participate in and organize research seminars.

(5%) Training, Outreach and Service:
Continue personal growth within the profession, keep current with the field, and broaden knowledge and expertise.

Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. in mathematics or its equivalent no earlier than January 1, 2024 and no later than August 26, 2025.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with the implementation and/or analysis of DG and HDG methods is a must.  Familiarity with the convolution technique for accuracy enhancing of finite element methods is highly regarded. Some knowledge of negative-order norms for the analysis of the resulting post-processing is most welcome but not necessary.
