The Assistant Director (AD) for Academic Skills position is a grant-funded position that serves students in the SSS program. The AD is responsible for instructing SSS students in one-on-one sessions on academic skills strategies, supervising graduate assistant(s) that also provide skills instruction, and coordinating the learning lab and work-study lab assistants. The AD works closely with SSS colleagues in counseling and tutoring to make sure students in the program are receiving the support they need to successfully complete a college degree. Employee will plan and participate in student events and college tours in NC and outside NC. This travel may require driving students in rental vehicles.

Minimum Qualifications

• The Assistant Director for Academic Skills must hold a Master’s Degree in Education, English, Reading, or related field and must have at least three years of effective teaching, tutoring, or TRiO work experience.
