The Division of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (AID) in the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington is seeking applicants for two full-time (1.0) faculty positions. These positions will be at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor rank on Clinical Practice track. Specific rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications as generally described in UW?s Faculty Code Section 24-34.  The initial appointment period will be three years, at a minimum, with eligibility for renewal thereafter.  Faculty on the clinical practice track hold multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30).  Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.  Clinical Practice track appointments are not eligible for tenure. The anticipated start date is June 2025 or later. 

The successful candidates will be attending physicians at the University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) ? Northwest campus and will provide ambulatory care and inpatient consultative services for patients representing the full spectrum of general infectious disease care, including travel medicine and the care of people with HIV. The successful candidates will also have the opportunity to engage in scholarship activities related to infectious diseases. These positions may also involve administrative leadership responsibilities. Faculty are expected to participate in teaching and mentoring students, residents, and fellows, including clinical teaching, classroom instruction, and mentoring committees. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.

The base salary range for this position will be: $17,621 - $18,994 per month ($211,452 - $227,928 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive pay and administrative supplement for administrative service.

Applicants must hold a MD or DO (or foreign equivalent) and be board eligible/board certified in Infectious Diseases (or foreign equivalent) and must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Washington. Successful candidates must demonstrate clinical expertise in the care of infectious disease patients. In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
