Your Role on the Team

Position Summary:

Incumbent assists medical care professionals during medical procedures. Follows instructions and standard procedures, ensures sterile environment, prepares rooms, and monitors techniques as instructed. This position will also float to support procedures that may take place in GI and the main OR.

Candidates with less years of experience may apply to be considered for the regular Surgical Technician role, with the salary range of $30.49-$37.82.

Required Qualifications:

• Understanding of medical terminology
• Two years of demonstrated surgical technologist experience in an acute care facility
• Successful completion of an accredited course in surgical technology
• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Current BLS certification
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Preferred Qualifications:

• Possession of a national Scrub Technician certification
• Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
• Demonstrated experience working as a Surgical Tech in a perioperative setting
