The First Year Engineering Program in Rayen School of Engineering at YSU seeks a tenure-track faculty member who will teach First Year Engineering program and other undergraduate courses related to the candidate?s own technical fields, establish an externally funded research program, and contribute to the intellectual environment through service.
 

Candidates should exhibit the ability to: contribute through teaching, scholarship, and/or service to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the academic community; apply evidence-based teaching practices to engineering coursework; and contribute to the department?s strategic focus on trusted microelectronics and related graduate programs.

Plans, organizes, teaches, and provides feedback to promote and direct student success. Responds to students in a timely manner. Communicates with students, departments, and university officials via university provided tools and resources.

Work Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday, including some evenings, and the possibility of some weekend days.

Required Certifications, Training, and/or Licensures: None

Minimum Qualifications: A Ph.D. in engineering education, with an undergraduate and a master?s degree in engineering.

Exceptional ABD candidates may apply and be considered with a letter of support from their dissertation chair attesting that all degree requirements, other than the dissertation defense, have been completed. Candidates must have achieved and supply documentation of the Ph.D. by the time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience and excellence in teaching, advising, recruiting, mentoring, and/or service. Established record of scholarly activity, such as publications, grants, or presentations, based on experience level.
