The Department of Rehabilitation Psychology and Special Education at the University of Wisconsin- Madison is seeking outstanding candidates for a tenured faculty position in the Rehabilitation Psychology Area, which includes graduate programs in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling (Masters) and Rehabilitation Counselor Education and Supervision (Doctoral), and a thriving undergraduate program in Rehabilitation Psychology. Candidates must, at the time of application, be at the level of Associate or Full Professor. Desirable candidates will be able to assume leadership roles and/or accept key responsibilities in the Rehabilitation Psychology Area and Department, have a record of excellence in university-level teaching at the graduate and undergraduate level, and have an established record of research and of success in securing external funding to support research and student scholarship. The Rehabilitation Psychology Area seeks to (a) maintain and expand its long history of excellence in rehabilitation counselor education, (b) provide national and international professional leadership, and (c) secure extramural funding to support distinguished research.

The appointment will be full-time for the nine-month Academic year. The salary is competitive and contingent on experience and qualifications.

-Conduct an active program of nationally recognized research and scholarship in social and behavioral determinants of health and disability
- Obtain substantial external financial support for research
- Provide leadership in the operation of the Rehabilitation Psychology Area and Department of Rehabilitation Psychology and Special Education, including in Area planning, maintenance of Area accreditation, and mentoring and guidance to junior faculty.
- Teach courses in B.S, M.S., and Ph.D. programs in rehabilitation psychology, clinical rehabilitation counseling, and rehabilitation counselor education
- Advise undergraduate and graduate students and supervise graduate student research
- Participate in shared governance and committee activities within the department and university
- Participate in community and professional service, including positions of leadership at the local, state, and national/international levels
- Participate in interdisciplinary and collaborative efforts with other departments, schools and colleges in the university

Earned doctoral degree or terminal degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Rehabilitation Counselor Education, or Counselor Education OR an earned doctoral degree in a closely related field, if combined with a university position held for at least one year prior to July 1, 2017 in a Rehabilitation Counselor Education program, accredited by the Council on Rehabilitation Education (CORE), or in a Counselor Education program for at least one full year prior to July 1, 2013.
