1. Provides leadership and vision for research and learning support in science, engineering, social science, management, related interdisciplinary programs, and student success. 2. Sets priorities and leads multiple projects while meeting deadlines and budgets. 3. Provides coaching, mentorship, and performance management for a highly skilled team. 4. Manages department budget. 5. Engages with deans, chairs, directors, faculty, and students in support of the University's research and learning missions. 6. Collaborates with colleagues throughout the Yale Library and other campus units. 7. Works independently with varied user groups in a complex organization and team environment. 8. Plans and implements an assessment program for the department. Contributes toward portfolio and organizational assessment initiatives. 9. Coordinates Marx Library facilities, programs, and events in collaboration with the Director of Access and Public Services. 10. Coordinates with departments in the Scholarly Resources portfolio to ensure delivery of high-impact science and social science collections and effective scholarly communications services. 11. Coordinates with the Director, Computational Methods and Data to ensure delivery of high-impact research data support services. 12. Represents Science and Social Science while serving on Library and University committees. 13. Participates in professional activities outside of Yale and monitors developments and best practices elsewhere to encourage innovation and ensure excellence. 14. May be required to assist with disaster recovery efforts. May be assigned to work at any Yale University location. 15. May perform other duties as assigned.
