General DescriptionThe Director of the Johns Hopkins Special Pathogens Center is responsible for overseeing the activities of one of the premier highly infectious disease preparedness programs. The Johns Hopkins Special Pathogens Center is dedicated to preparedness, research and treatment of highly lethal infections and diseases of unknown origin. The center brings together the expertise of three distinct areas at Johns Hopkins Medicine -- clinical care, research and education -- to respond to special pathogens such as Ebola, Marburg, Lassa and novel respiratory pathogens.
